Oct 2: Paying floral tributes to the statues of Mahatma Gandhi and recital
of his favourite bhajans marked the 148th birth anniversary of father of the
nation in Telangana on Monday. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Governor ESL
Narasimahan , Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao were among those
who paid floral tributes at Bapu Ghat near Lungar House on the outskirts of the
city. Leaders of various political parties garlanded the statues of Mahatma
Gandhi in different parts of the state. Several social organisations organised
bhajans and cultural programmes highlighting the contribution of Mahatma on the
