Chennai,
Oct 30: The one man inquiry commission headed by retired Madras High Court
Judge Mr Justice A Arumughaswamy, set up to probe the death of late Chief
Minister J Jayalalithaa, has issued notices to 15 people seeking explanation on
their involvement during the days leading up to her hospitalisation. However,
the names to whom the notices were issued were not disclosed. The commission
was scheduled to commence its probe today from MNs Jayalaitha’s Poes Garden
residence. But, Justice Arumughaswamy, who is currently in Coimbatore, was
expected to start his probe after receipt of reply to the notices. On October
27, Mr Arumughaswamay told reporters that people could reach him personally or
send the information they know about Ms Jayalalithaa’s death through post. He
also said that people who knew Ms Jayalalitha well and who were with her could
also aid the probe by providing information known to them. Following this, the
Commission was said to have received 20 letters at its office at Kalas Mahal in
the city. Sources said the notices were sent based on the information contained
in these letters. Ms Jayalalithaa was declared dead following a cardiac arrest
on December 5, 2015 after 75 days of treatment at the Apollo Hospitals in the
city. UNI
