| Chairs 3rd Working Group meeting for Operationalization of Knowledge Initiative |
SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 23: Advisor to
Chief Minister, Prof. Amitabh Mattoo chaired the 3rd Working Group meeting
for Operationalization of Knowledge Initiative with industrialists and educationists at SKICC here
today.
During the meeting, Prof. Mattoo said that Jammu and Kashmir State has a huge
potential of creating employment but the need of the hour is to channelize
talent of youth in the State.
“It is for
the first time in the history of the State that much focus is given to the
betterment of youth and our incumbent Chief Minister is very keen
for preparing policies, guidelines and schemes to ensure full
literacy and competitive employability,” Prof. Mattoo said.
The aim of the meeting was to get recommendations from various stakeholders
in order to help the government in formulating the vision document for
interventions in skills, teaching, learning, research and innovation
that will be drawn from global best practices and traditional
norms.
Thread bare discussions were held and various suggestions and recommendations
from industrialists and educations were taken into notice.
Prof. Mattoo stressed on industrialists to revive the old customs by creating and
establishing the old art manufacturing units.
He assured the stakeholders that government will also start new courses for
different traditional craft courses in colleges which will help the
youth to flourish the art and craft industry.
The meeting was attended by president and members of KCCI, industrialists
and educationalists.
In the meeting, the KCCI came with a proposal of adopting one school and one
college and providing work skills in different industrial
management sectors so that students will gain work experience.
After the meeting, Prof. Mattoo interacted with the students and faculty
of various colleges and universities.
