JAMMU, OCTOBER 30: Speaker, Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly,
Kavinder Gupta, launched a book titled “Disaster Management of Electrical
Installation” at Institute of Engineers India, , Channi Himmat, Jammu here today.
The book
has been authored by Former General Manager from Power Grid Corporation of
India limited, Engineer Kuldip Raj Suri and Dr. Sanjeev Anand who is presently
working as Assistant Professor, Energy Management at SMVDU.
Speaking on the occasion, Speaker congratulated the authors for this
informative publication and appreciated them for dissemination of knowledge
based upon their vast experiences.
Citing the book as first of its kind, Kavinder lauded the authors for
covering all essential aspects of disasters occurring in Power system and
remedial measures to mitigate the same. He hoped that others will take
inspiration from such educative creations to utilize their skills and expertise
in their respective fields.
Stressing
on need to bridge the knowledge gap, Speaker said that this book will go a long
way to help in effective disaster management in Indian power sector. “Concepts
were explained with realistic approach and it will prove to be a guiding force
for people involved in power sector especially for technocrats”, he
further said.
Describing electric energy as one of the highest demanded utility of
civil society, Speaker said that a concentrated approach is required for its
restoration under abnormal situations.
MLC Vikram Randhawa commended the authors for extending knowledge
transfer for the generation to come through the book.
