“Miscreants to be booked”
KULGAM, OCTOBER 21: District Magistrate Kulgam has said the altercation
between a Pandit and a Muslim family in the area was a result a land dispute.
The DM Kulgam visited the spot to assess the ground realities in order to
initiate the necessary measures. "The scuffle took place over some piece
of land between the two families and the incident wrongly represented in the
social media," he said.
The DM said that an FIR No. 182/2017 dated 19.10.17 has already been
lodged and consequent arrests have been made.
The DM has called on the concerned SP to speed up the investigation
process and book the miscreants who have misrepresented the facts and tried to
vitiate the communal harmony in the district by posting grossly twisted information
on social media.
He also directed the revenue officers to sort out the land dispute
between the two families at an earliest.
