Delhi, Oct 5: The CBI on Thursday questioned RJD chief Lau Prasad in
connection with Railway hotel contract scam case. Mr Prasad, who appeared
before the investigating agency following multiple summons, was accompanied by
daughter Misa Bharti. Ms Bharti is also facing Enforcement Directorate probe in
the alleged money laundering case. The RJD chief’s son Tejashwi Yadav has been
summoned for questioning tomorrow. The case allegedly involving the father and
the son relates to irregularities in the award of contract of two Railway
hotels in Ranchi and Puri to Patna-based Sujata Hotels in 2006. Mr Prasad was
Railway Minister in 2006 when the hotels were first transferred to IRCTC and
then to the company. According to the CBI charge sheet, the accused misused
their offices to ensure that the contract was given to Sujata Hotels in lieu of
a three-acre commercial property in Patna. The property was acquired through a
company Delight Marketing Company. UNI
