Oct 27: The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested a man, who was out on bail
in a terror-related case, and seized a fake passport and other documents from
him late on Thursday night. A ration card, a PAN card and an Aadhaar also were
recovered from Farhan’s possession, in Mugalpura area, confirmed Senior
Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jitendra Singh here today. Farhan is reportedly
an active member of the terror organisation Lashkar-e-Toiba, had been convicted
by a Delhi POTA court and sentenced to seven years in prison in 2008, but he
managed to secure bail in 2009 and was staying in Moradabad. Farhan is also an
accused in the Godhra riots case. According to police, the arrested man, a
native of Sohratgarh in Siddharthnagar district, procured a fake passport in a
name of Farhan Ali by submitting copies of fake ration card and other
documents. Efforts were on to identify and apprehend those who helped in the
forgery racket. UNI
