RAJOURI, OCTOBER 31: Terming the allegations of biased approach of district administration towards development of road infrastructure in Darhal as baseless, a spokesperson of the administration today said that a slew of key road projects are underway in the area including Rs. 33 crore Rajouri-Darhal-Prori road.
Serious allegations of assiduously ignoring of Darhal area on developmental front by the district administration recently surfaced in some sections of the social media.
The spokesperson informed that the macadamization work on 1km road stretch from Darhal Bus Stand to Iqbal Gate and another 1.5 kilometer from Chatyar to Kasiyan, involving a cost of R. 80 Lakh has been undertaken by the PWD and will be completed within a week time.
It was further informed that 1.5 km road stretch from Darhali Brdige to Chatyar is recently repaired and maintained by the concerned agency therby incurring Rs. 50 lakk whereas 1 km road from Sain Ganji Ziyarat to Kaimri Gali and 2.5 km Bagh-Chitti Batti road will be macadamized in a couple of weeks. It was also assured that 8 km of Chowdhary Nar-Dadaj Road would be completed in the current financial year with an estimated expenditure of Rs. 2.5 km.
However the spokesman said, “the work on 11.40 km Kasiyan-Darhal-Thana Mang stretch and 16 km Darhal-Prori road, to be executed by PMGSY, will be started soon as the tendering process has been completed and cases sent to contract committee, meanwhile contractor has been asked to mobilise machinery".
It is pertinent to mention here that decks were cleared for this road after hectic efforts made in vacation of court stay and other measures.
