Srinagar, Oct 3 : Militants shot dead a constable of Jammu and Kashmir police in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, official sources said here on Tuesday morning. They said militants fired at Ashiq Hussain at Padgampora, Pulwama, where he had gone to attend the marriage ceremony of his relative late on Monday night. Ashiq, who received several injuries, collapsed and died on the spot, they said adding the militants managed to escape under the cover of darkness before security forces could reach the spot. A massive hunt has been launched to nab the militants responsible for the attack on Ashiq, who was working as mushi in police station Awantipora. UNI
