Oct 24: Pakistan again violated ceasefire and resorted to unprovoked
shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Nougam sector in frontier Kashmir
district of Kupwara. This is for the fourth successive day on Tuesday that
Pakistan has violated ceasefire along the LoC in Kashmir valley. Official
sources told UNI that Pakistani Rangers resorted to heavy shelling targeting
forward posts along the LoC in Nougam sector in Kupwara at 0930 hrs. They said
Indian troops retaliated strongly, adding that intermittent exchange of fire
was still going on when the reports last case in. “No casualty has been
reported on this side in the ceasefire violation,” he added. On October 21, an
Army porter was killed and a girl injured when Pakistani troops resorted to
unprovoked shelling along the LoC in Kamal Kote in Uri sector, where ceasefire
was again violated on October 22 and October 23. Pakistani troops targeted
forward Indian posts on the LoC in Keran sector in the frontier district of
Kupwara on October 15. On September 20, Pak troops violated the ceasefire in
which one soldier was killed and three others were injured in Keran sector. UNI
