Oct 28: A recruit of Jammu and Kashmir Police, who had gone missing with
Ak-47, has allegedly joined terrorist outfit in the Kashmir valley.
"Ishfaq Dar, who was undergoing a training at Police Training Centre,
District Kathua, was on leave and reportedly joined LeT outfit," police
sources said here on Saturday. They said that his picture carrying a weapon
with a mention 'joining LeT', has also gone viral on social media. "We got
the report of constable joining the terrorist outfit but investigating the
matter," S D Singh Jamwal, Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone here
told UNI. He said, "the (recruit) was on leave and reportedly gone missing
from Kashmir valley." "He was a recruit at PTC Kathua and no weapon
is missing from the training centre," said the top cop adding that he had
a detailed deliberation with IGP Kashmir, who is looking into the matter.
Reliable sources however, said that the cop had gone on protest leave after
recruits at PTC Kathua staged demonstration seeking abolishing of SRO 201 to
sort out monthly salary issue. He returned or not, or joined the outfit while
being on leave, is being verified. UNI
