Progress of electoral enrolment reviewed at Reasi

DEO calls for door to door campaign

REASI, OCTOBER 14: District Election Officer (DEO) Prassana Ramaswamy G today chaired a meeting of revenue and rural development departments to review the progress on electoral enrolment in the district.

Reviewing the Tehsil wise progress and achievements, DEO directed the concerned officers to devise comprehensive strategy and work with full dedication to enroll all   eligible and left out electors.

He also asked the tehsildars to organize   special awareness camps and other SVEEP related activities with the support of other departments in schools and other public places to mobilize general for ongoing enrolment drive.

The DEO said that the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) should visit door to door for registration of newly eligible voters in the age group of 18-21 and carry out addition, deletion, correction or transposition of the genuine electors.

It was also decided in the meeting that all genuine complaints and queries should be recorded for their disposal in time bound manner. In this regard maximum efforts are needed to redress the complaints at lower level, DEO said.

The DEO further stressed upon the officers to develop people friendly environment in their respective offices and extend full cooperation to the general public approaching the offices for registration as electors.

Among other meeting was attended by ADC Babu Ram, ACR Harbans Lal, Deputy District Election Officer Surjeet Singh, Tehsildars, Block Development officers etc.
