Vijayawada,
Oct 18: Telugu Desam Party National General Secretary and Andhra Pradesh
IT Minister Nara Lokesh 'Pooh-Pooh' reports of Telangana party Working
President and MLA Reventh Reddy quitting the TDP to join the Congress Party.
Responding for the first time on the reports that Mr Reddy is all set to quit
the TDP and join the Congress, Mr Lokesh said that it was all speculation. “I
cannot respond to the reports, appeared in media. We have got information that
Revanth Reddy went to New Delhi on some legal issues” he said. The TDP high
command nor any senior leader responded so far on the reports that Revanth
Reddy had all set to quit the TDP to join the Congress. It may be mentioned
here that Mr Reddy was caught red-handed while allegedly offering huge money to
nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson to vote for the TDP candidate in MLC poll. Mr
Reddy was sent to prison and later released on bail. After the sensational
“note for vote” scam, most of the TDP MLAs quit the party and joined the ruling
Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). According to Congress sources here, Reventha
Reddy has all set to join the Congress party in a couple of days as he is in
touch with Congress senior leaders in Delhi. Meanwhile, Mr Lokesh informed that
all District Collectors were alerted on the imminent threat of depression to
the Coastal AP districts. He said all the Collectors were directed to take the
necesssary precautions to face any eventuality. The situation would be briefed
to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu who is on a foreign tour, he said. UNI
