Vijayawada, Dec 19: National Executive Member and MLC Somu Veerraju said that if the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) did not want alliance with the BJP, its President and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu should announce it in public.
Mr Veerraju alleged that the TDP leaders were fearing at the growth of BJP in the state.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, he said that the TDP leaders were making comments humiliating the BJP leaders. Reports appear on the next day that Mr Naidu asked the leaders to maintain restraint. “When I responded to their comments, the TDP leaders was asking about my status in the BJP. But I do not want to make comment on their remarks” he said.
The BJP leader said the then Prime Minister A B Vajpayee trusted Mr Chandrababu Naidu and agreed to
have an alliance with TDP six months in advance of the election in 2004. However, the BJP suffered a debacle in that election and Mr Vajpayee had not recovered from the shock. The BJP MLC said that in 2013, Mr Chandrababu Naidu announced that aligning with the BJP in 2004 election was an historical blunder. But, when the BJP was taking steps to contest in 175 MLA and 25 MP seats in AP before 2014 elections, the TDP President itself came forward to have an alliance with the BJP.
He reminded that in 2009 election, the TDP went to the polls alone and lost in the hustings.
“We are trying to strengthen the BJP in AP but it didn't go down well with the TDP leaders as they are making adverse comments on the issue. The BJP leaders are not in a position to do any favour like allocating houses for the poor and granting social security pension, even though it was part of State government” he said. UNI

We have got information that Revanth Reddy went to New Delhi on some legal issues” he said. The TDP high command nor any senior leader responded so far on the reports that Revanth Reddy had all set to quit the TDP to join the Congress. It may be mentioned here that Mr Reddy was caught red-handed while allegedly offering huge money to nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson to vote for the TDP candidate in MLC poll. Mr Reddy was sent to prison and later released on bail. After the sensational “note for vote” scam, most of the TDP MLAs quit the party and joined the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). According to Congress sources here, Reventha Reddy has all set to join the Congress party in a couple of days as he is in touch with Congress senior leaders in Delhi. Vijayawada, Jul 18 :  The Chandrababu Naidu-led state government suffered a setback as the AP High Court today issued notices to four Ministers, who were elected on the YSRCP ticket and later defected to the ruling Telugu Desam Party. The HC in Hyderabad issued notices to C Adinarayana Reddy, Bhuma Akhila Priya, N Amarnath Reddy and R S K Ranga Rao on a petition, filed by journalist Shiva Prasad Reddy, challenging their induction into the state Cabinet as they were elected on the YSRCP ticket. Mr Reddy filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the High Court, challenging their being inducted into the Cabinet. The petitioner argued that the induction of defected MLAs into the Cabinet is unconstitutional. The High Court admitted the petition for hearing and issued notices to the government and the four Ministers, asking them to file counter affidavits by four weeks. As many as 21 MLAs and an MLC have quit the YSR Congress party and joined the ruling TDP during the last three years. Some of them were inducted into the Cabinet by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. UNI
