SOPORE, OCTOBER 03: To mark the culmination of the
cleanliness campaign "Swachta Hi Sewa", a grand function was
organized at Dak Banglow Sopore.
Director Urban Local Bodies Kashmir Riyaz Ahmad Wani was the chief guest
on the occasion,. The campaign was launched on September 15 with the special
aim of raising awareness about sanitation during which special cleanliness
drives at public places, offices, schools, and colleges were launched, besides
holding of awareness camps and other related programmes.
Among others Executive Officer Municipal Council Sopore, members from
Civil Society Sopore, members from traders federation Sopore and other senior
citizens were present on the occasion.
On the occasion Director local bodies Kashmir also gave a patient
hearing to the problems and grievances highlighted by the members of civil
society and traders federation. The Director asked the authorities of municipal
council to conduct special survey of the area and prepare a detailed project
report in this regard and start work on the project immediately. He asked them
to construct individual five flash points and also instructed them to install
300 street lights in town. The Director asked the concerned to demolish all
illegal structures in bus stand and other areas of Sopore town.
The Director assured the people that their grievances would be addressed
at an earliest. He issued on spot sanction for five urinal points at different
locations of town.
