| Examines CAGs Audit Paras of JKPHC |
SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 03- A meeting
of the Committee on Public Undertakings was held here today under the
Chairmanship of MLA, Sat Paul Sharma to examine the CAG’s Audit
Paras pertaining to the Jammu and Kashmir Police Housing Corporation Ltd.
(JKPHC), Home Department.
Threadbare discussions were held on the reply submitted by the
Corporation about CAGs Audit Para 5.2 regarding avoidable payment of interest,
5.3 short deduction of Labour Cess and 5.4 non enforcement of terms of
contract.
Legislators, G.M. Saroori, Abdul Majid Larmi, Rajeev Sharma and Vikram
Randhawa attended the meeting and gave their suggestions to make the JKP
Housing Corporation more functional and vibrant.
While
discussing the audit paras 5.3 and 5.4 in details, the Committee directed the
concerned authorities to submit a comprehensive detailed report regarding the
paras after proper verification and scrutinize the matter.
The Committee also discussed the other issues regarding the technical
fault of the vehicle of the Legislators, issuance of SPOs list of Jammu
province, establishment of labs for testing of materials used in the
constructions, mode of payment to the contractors and set up of Board of
Directors for proper functioning of Corporation (Company).
Principal Secretary, Home R K Goel and Managing Director J&K Police
Housing Corporation briefed the committee about the CAG's observations and
action taken by the Corporation on the audit paras.
Among others, seniors officers of JK Police Housing Corporation, CAGs
and Assembly Secretariat were also present in the meeting.
