SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 03: The Deputy
District Election Officer, Srinagar today announced schedule for Special
Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls in the district as per the directions
of Election Commission of India.
Accordingly, October 3, 2017 has been scheduled for Draft Publication of Electoral Rolls, while as
filling of claims and objections can be done from October 3
to November 1.
Schedule for reading of relevant parts/section of photo electoral rolls
in Gram Sabha/Local Bodies and RWA meetings and verification would be from October 4
to October 18. The schedule for special campaign dates with booth level agents of
political parties for receiving claims and objections is from October 14
to October 21.
November 30 has been fixed as day for disposal of claims and objections, whereas on December
15 updating the database, merging of photographs, updating the control
tables and preparation and printing of supplementary list would be done. January
01, 2018 is scheduled for Final Publication of Electoral Rolls.
The draft photo electoral rolls, 2017 will be available at District
Headquarter/Tehsil offices/Offices of Srinagar Municipal Corporation/Booth
Level Officers and at Polling stations level and on the website of Chief
Electoral Officer, J&K (http://www.ceojk.nic.in)for the information of all
concerned.
It was said that revision exercise would be carried out with full vigour
to ensure that maximum number of eligible voters are enrolled in the Electoral
Rolls so that no eligible voter is left out and can exercise their franchise.
