Search operation launched in north Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 4: Security forces launched a search operation in some areas in north Kashmir district of Bandipora early on Wednesday morning, official sources said. They said on a tip off about the presence of militants, security forces and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police launched a joint search operation in some areas in Hajin in Bandipora district of north Kashmir. The security forces sealed all exit points and closed all roads. Residents were directed to remain indoors. Large number of security forces have also been deployed outside the cordoned off areas to prevent any law and order problem. However, no contact has been established with the militants so far. Meanwhile, locals alleged that mobile internet service has been suspended in these areas since last night to prevent spread of any rumours. UNI
