| Expresses optimism about public cooperation to govt’s endeavours |
JAMMU,
OCTOBER 30 - Minister for PHE, Irrigation &
Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary, today kick started macadamization work on a
2 km road from Jeora farm to Jeora Basti in Suchetgarh.
To be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 60 lakh, the road will benefit the inhabitants
of Gujjar Basti and adjoining parts.
Sham Lal emphasized upon the executing agencies to make sure that the
qualitative and quantitative parameters of the work are taken care of while
ensuring expeditious completion of the macadamization work on the road. “Timely and quality completion of a work is vital ingredient for
successful implementation of any development programme so these must be
strictly adhered to at all levels”, he asserted.
The Minister, while speaking on the occasion, said the prime focus of
present dispensation is to extend an expanded road network in every part of the
state with emphasis on unattended areas. “Road connectivity is basic need for
growth and development of any area and we are determined to ensure that this
vital service is provided to all irrespective of social, economic, cultural or
any political consideration”, he maintained.
Referring to various reformative measures initiated by the government to
steer the state towards peace, progress and prosperity, the Minister
appreciated the role and cooperation being extended by the common people in
effective and result oriented implementation of all such programmes. He
expressed optimism that the people would continue their support in this regard
and would further supplement government’s efforts of writing a new chapter of
developing in Jammu and Kashmir.
Among others senior officers and prominent citizens were present on the
occasion.
