SPO of opposition NC leader shot at in Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 26: Hours after Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti said that security forces should not act like militants, unidentified gunmen shot at and wounded a Special Police Officer (SPO) of Jammu and Kashmir police in south Kashmir. Official sources said that gunmen fired at SPO Ashiq Hussain of opposition National Conference (NC) leader on the outskirts of main Shopian town on Wednesday night. The injured was rushed to a local hospital from where he was referred to Srinagar, they said, adding that the gunmen managed to escape under the cover of darkness before security forces reached the spot.
