Lucknow,
Oct 24: The construction of a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya is just a matter
of time, according to Shri Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas Committee member Dr Ram Vilas
Vedanti. “Ram Mandir will definitely be built in Ayodhya and nobody can stop
that,” Dr Vedanti announced emphatically while speaking to UNI. “If not now,
then when? This is the right time. The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) is in power,
both at the Centre and in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Both the governments were
elected with a massive unprecedented mandate. Both Prime Minister Narendra Modi
and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are duty-bound to facilitate the
construction of the temple because they had promised in BJP’s election
manifesto,” he stressed. He, however, pointed out that it was not BJP’s job to
build the temple, but the party and the government at the Centre and in the
state ought to facilitate the temple’s construction “because the party had
promised that it would do its best to overcome obstacles from constitutional
point of view.” “Now the time is ripe to make that happen,” he suggested. “We
are patiently waiting for the Supreme Court verdict on the issue and we have
full faith in the judiciary.” When asked by UNI about his plan of action if the
government does a flip-flop or attempts to linger the matter, Dr Vedanti
brushed aside the question by saying “ask me about this when such a situation
arises.” Dr Vedanti had recently sought an inquiry by Central Bureau of
Investigation (CBI) into Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan’s conduct, accusing
him of anti-national activities. When informed that a CBI inquiry couldn’t be
ordered simply on an individual’s complaint, he said, “Whenever Azam Khan
speaks, he makes derogatory remarks against the motherland and Ganga maiyya. He
had also made baseless allegations against India Army officers and jawans that
they were involved in rape of Kashmiri women. My point is that, if ordered, the
CBI inquiry will certainly bring to light several facts that would reveal his
anti-national attitude.” Dr Vedanti clarified that it was not his intention to
disturb communal harmony and pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had
never said that he wanted Hindus alone to progress. 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas'
is what Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is also propagating. “But Azam Khan
alleges that BJP doesn’t want Muslims to progress. No other Muslim leader has
made such an allegation,” he pointed out. UNI
