Srinagar, Nov 21: Two
Army soldiers were killed in an encounter with militants in north Kashmir
district of Kupwara, where three Pakistani militants of Lashkher-e-Toiba (LeT)
were gunned down early on Tuesday morning.
Official sources told UNI that following
specific information about presence of militants at Zirhama in Kupwara, a joint
search operation was launched by 21 RR, 98th battalion of CRPF and Special
Operations Group (SOG) of state police in the area.However, when security forces were moving towards a particular area, militants hiding there, fired at them with automatic weapons.
The security force also retaliated ensuing in an encounter.
“Two Army jawans were killed in the exchange of fire,” they said.
Additional security forces were rushed to further cordon off the area to foil any attempts by militants to escape, they added. UNI
