Delhi, Nov 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 8th Global
Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) in Hyderabad on Tuesday, hosted jointly by India
and the United States.
The three-day summit is being held for the first time in
South Asia in Hyderabad.A host of entrepreneurs, investors, and supporters from around the world would be participating in the summit.
US President's Adviser Ivanka Trump will lead the US contingent.
With the theme of -- Women First, Prosperity for All -- this will be the first Global Entrepreneurship Summit in which over 52.5 per cent of the participants are women, NITI Aayog said in a statement.
More than 10 countries will be represented by an all-female delegation, including from Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, and Israel.
A number of leading female voices will speak at various plenary sessions and workshops during the summit.
This year’s summit theme demonstrates the commitment of the U.S. and Indian governments to the principle that when women are economically empowered, their communities and countries thrive.
Minister for External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman are among the speakers at the summit. UNI
