Locals
hail CM, FM for landmark decision
SRINAGAR,
NOVEMBER 14: Fulfilling the long-pending demand of the locals, the
Government today ordered bifurcation of Achagoza-Bamnoo hamlet in Rajpora
constituency of district Pulwama as separate revenue villages of Achagoza and
Bamnoo.
"In
exercise of the powers conferred by Section-3 (1) (c) of the J&K Land
Revenue Act Samvat-1996, sanction is hereby accorded to the bifurcation of
Revenue Village Achagoza-Bamnoo into revenue villages Achagoza and Bamnoo,”
said an order issued by the Commissioner Secretary to the Government, Revenue
Department.
According
to the order, the new revenue village of Achagoza shall comprise 4154 kanals of
land area while the village Bamnoo shall comprise 2782 kanals of land area.
The
order said that separate Record of Rights shall be prepared for the new
villages while the inhabitants of the new villages shall continue to have joint
rights over the Kahcharai land and other common lands like pathways, roads,
irrigation channels, springs, drinking water etc as were being enjoyed by them
traditionally prior to the carving out of the new villages.
The
bifurcation of these villages has been done on the initiative of Minister for
Finance, Dr Haseeb Drabu, who represents the Rajpora constituency in the State
Legislature.
The
people of the area have expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister, Mehbooba
Mufti and the Finance Minister, Dr Haseeb Drabu for the landmark decision. They
said the decision would go a long way in the focused socio-economic development
of the village and its inhabitants who were otherwise neglected.
Pertinently, the Government
had earlier this year, on the initiative of Dr Drabu, created a separate
revenue village of Lassidaban in the same area.
