CCTV, additional SF being deployed at Hazratbal for Eid-Milad-Un-Nabi celebrations

Srinagar, Nov 21: The authorities have decided to install more CCTV cameras and deployed additional security forces at Hazratbal shrine, which houses which houses the Holy Relic of Prophet Muhammad, for Eid-Milad-Un-Nabi celebrations on December Ist.

  Besides  110 workers of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) would be deployed for round the clock sanitation in and around the shrine beside 4 mobile toilets will be put in place at different locations. The Power Development Department (PDD) would provide uninterrupted electricity besides would also keep 60-70 KV generators available to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the shrine during the celebrations.
      The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police, Central, said that two more companies of lady constables would be deployed at the shrine which will be in additional to already existing 70 constables.
      He said besides CCTV cameras would be installed outside the shrine to prevent any law and order situation.
  This information was given during a meeting chaired by minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Asiea Naqash during her visit to Hazratbal shrine yesterday, an official spokesman said on Tuesday.
  The meeting was informed that State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) would ply an adequate number of special buses for women from Lal Chowk to Hazratbal.  She was informed that Health Department would set up 5 medical camps with all healthcare facilities.
         The Public Health Engineering (PHE) will provide round the clock water supply and additional two water tankers would be kept available in the Shrine premises and more tankers will be provided if the need arises.  
The Inspector General (IG) Traffic said that they will make public traffic route plans to prevent traffic jams and besides parking spaces will be earmarked as usual where devotees can park their vehicles.
The Minister asked all the departments to ensure all arrangements well in time to facilitate the devotees paying obeisance at the shrine and said that she will personally monitor the arrangements during all these days.
The Minister directed the Wakaf Board Authorities to ensure proper flooring and heating arrangements besides comfortable tents in and around the Shrine so that devotees do not face any kind of problem. UNI
