Minister inspects
various stalls in Super Bazaar Jammu
JAMMU, NOVEMBER 15:
Minister of State for Forest, Environment, Animal, Sheep Husbandry, Cooperative
and Fisheries, Mir Zahoor Ahmad has said that Government is contemplating to
set up Super Bazar branches and Medical Shops at every Tehsil Headquarters in
the State for which he asked the concerned to submit a comprehensive scientific
proposal so that maximum consumers of the State are benefited.
The Minister was
speaking at a function organized by the Jammu Cooperative Wholesale Limited
(Super Bazar) in connection with Cooperative Week on the theme “Co-operative:
Producers to Consumers”, here today.
The
Minister said that the main objective of the Super Bazaar is to provide
essential commodities to the people at cheaper
than market prices. He asked the management to take innovative measures to
expand the business of the organization at all its shopping
centres.
He
also called for advertising of business products through print and electronic
media so that maximum customers are benefited. He said Cooperative Institutions
was once popular amongst the consumers for meeting their daily needs but they
have somewhat lost their sheen in recent time. He said that the lost glory of
these institutes can be revived by associating the people with them and
reaching out to more customers by providing various offers in shape of
discounts.
The
Minister stressed for launching an official website which he said will
facilitate consumers and other Government Organizations to associate with the
Super Bazar. The Minister asked the concerned to prepare a plan in this regard
and submit the same to the concerned for accord of necessary approval.
Highlighting
the avenues to increase business turn over, the Minister underscored the need
for face lifting of both Super Bazars at Jammu as well as Srinagar. He asked
the concerned to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for expansion and
upgradation of buildings on modern lines for all available prime cooperative
assets.
Secretary
Cooperative, Bashir Ahmad Bhat and Register Cooperative, Peerzada H. U Shah in
their speeches highlighted the importance of the celebrations of Cooperative
Week on the occasion.
Among others, VC Kisan
Borad and Chairman Cooperative Societies, Rajesh Sharma, Managing Director,
JKFED, Senior Officers of JAKFED, Super Bazar and Cooperative Societies were
present on the occasion.
Later, Mir Zahoor also
inspected Super Bazar Jammu and took stock of its functioning. He also reviewed
the business targets of the unit.
Enquiring
about the position of sales recorded by Super Bazar and other allied outlets
during the current year, the Minister asked the concerned to work hard to raise
the scale of profit, adding that the financial self sufficiency would be
beneficial for the employees as it will be able to get their genuine dues.
Stressing
the need for further streamlining of the business activities of the
organization, Mir Zahoor urged upon the functionaries to evolve better work
culture by putting in their sincere efforts to achieve the business targets.
