Chairman continues series of tours to far
flung villages, takes first hand appraisal of people’s grievances at Wakha,
Mulbekh
KARGIL, NOVEMBER 15: Chairman Legislative Council Haji Anayat
Ali today said that the present government is making concerted efforts to
provide all out facilities to the common man and in this regard various welfare
schemes have been initiated which are mainly aimed at ensuring the overall
development of the neglected areas.
The Chairman stated this while interacting
with public delegations at Wado, Broq Lungba, Chamba, Pachay Khar, Kalaksa,
Kurtan, Tumbur, Wado, allied modas of Broq and Rgyal Wakha as well as adjoining
habitations in the Wakha Mulbekh area.
Haji Anayat Ali said that under the dynamic
leadership of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti the state is moving towards an era
of peace and prosperity and many mega developmental projects as well as social
welfare schemes have been launched, adding that the initiatives have started
yielding results and people are now getting benefit of these schemes.
Meanwhile the people apprised the Chairman
with several problems and demands concerning to uninterrupted power supply,
shortage of staff in schools, road connectivity, repair and renovation of
irrigation khuls and water supply schemes besides other issues. Responding to
the demands of the people the Chairman assured the depuationists that all their
genuine demands would be considered on priority and steps for fulfillment would
be taken in a phased manner. The Chairman also assured people that he is always
available for them and they can approach him any time.
The Chairman said that in order to ease the
facilities of better road connectivity and water supply for the people of the
area, DPRs for construction of link road at Rgyal Lungba and construction of
irrigation canal at Tumbur Thang and several other projects are in pipeline and
work on these projects is expected to be started early next year.
Haji Anayat Ali directed the concerned
officers to prepare DPRs for the construction, renovation, remodeling and
realignment of various link roads, irrigation canals and water supply schemes
in the area.
During his tour the Chairman chaired a school
function at Spring Dale Public School Wakha. On the occasion the Chairman
announced Rs 10 lakh out his CDF for construction of Science and Computer
Laboratory Block in the school besides announcing a cash prize of Rs 10
thousand in favor of the students who participated in the cultural programme
held there. He also announced to provide funds from CDF for installation of
transformer at Dambu besides announcing more funds out of his CDF for the
provision of generator and kitchen sets, establishment of kitchen gardens for
women SHGs, construction of community halls and other developmental activities
in the area.
Meanwhile the Chairman appealed the people to
take advantage of various pro- poor schemes launched by the Central and State
Governments. He also directed the officials to perform their duties with
punctuality, zeal and dedication without making the general public to suffer.
He directed the concerned departments to redress problems of the people on
priority and asked the field functionaries to create awareness among public
about various schemes of their departments so that people from far flung areas
can take benefits of these welfare programmes.
The Chairman said that the Government is
steadfast on commitments and promises made to people and is working on the agenda
of good governance besides providing basic facilities to the people at their
doorsteps.
