Coalition committed to mitigate problems of
people
JAMMU, NOVEMBER 15: Minister for Agriculture,
Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura today said that Kisan Mela would be organized in every
district of the state from coming December to provide awareness to people about
new technology introduced in agriculture sector.
Addressing a meeting at Gandhi Nagar here
today, Hanjura said these Kisan Mela would help the farmers about the new
technology in agriculture sector.
He said that aim of these Kisan Mela is to
help farmers to adopt new technology in their agriculture fields. Hanjura said
that new technology would help the farmers to increase their income.
The Agriculture minister said that Jammu
region has lot of potential in Mushroom and apiculture sectors. He said that
the farmers of the region would also be informed about the scope of these
sectors in these Kisan mela.
The Minister also said that state government
is committed to help the farmer community about the new schemes of agriculture.
He said that government has already announced number of schemes in agriculture
sector and these schemes will help the farmers to increase their monthly
income.
The Minister also said that agriculture
department has set up a target to double the farmer’s income by 2022 and to
achieve this target both the central and state government had announced various
schemes to achieve the target.
Hanjura said that coalition government is
committed to mitigate the problems of the people.
On the occasion, people from various areas
raised their demands and grievances and the minister assured them that their
genuine demands would be addressed on priority bases.
Farmers of different areas including Jammu,
Samba, Udhampur, Reasi and other areas highlighted the problems.
The problems highlighted include irrigation
facilities to the tail end areas of Ranbir Canal in Marh and R. S. Pura Sub
-Divisions, provision of subsidies for agriculture machinery, marketing
facilities for basmati rice, creation of vegetable marketing hub at chenani,
awareness of various farmers welfare schemes, representation of all the farmers
for tours and trainings outside and within state, Post harvest technology and
processing facilities at various agriculture production areas, opening up of
more mandis for procurement of paddy.
Vijay Dogra, vice
chairperson JK women’s development corporation, Ex-Minister Choudhary
Gharu Ram and others were present on the occasion.
