Directs for
sticking to guidelines in implementation of welfare schemes
REASI, NOVEMBER 25: Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare Department Sajad
Ahmad Khan today asked the officers to stick to the guidelines while
implementing state and centrally sponsored social welfare schemes so that the
benefit of these schemes reaches the genuine beneficiaries at their doorsteps.
The Commissioner
Secretary issued these directions while reviewing the progress of Integrated
Child Development Services (ICDS) and Social Welfare Department (SWD) in Reasi.
The review meeting
was attended by PO, ICDS Surinder Mohan Sharma, DSWO Kulraj Singh Thakur, Child
Development Project Officers, Supervisors and other functionaries of ICDS and
Social Welfare Department.
He stressed upon
the officers to work with dedication for maintaining transparency and justice
in delivery system and asked them to make concerted efforts for providing
benefit to the deserving and genuine beneficiaries.
He further asked
them to achieve the fixed targets and utilize the allocated funds in
transparent and judicious manner. The PO, CDPOs and supervisors should conduct
regular field visit for improving the working of the ICDS on ground.
He stressed on
holding awareness programmes in the Anganwadi centres for educating the people
about various welfare schemes and poverty alleviating programmes of the
department.
The Commissioner
Secretary also took serious note of the pending selection of Anganwadi workers
and helpers in six Anganwadi centres of ICDS Project, Arnas for which the
candidates have already applied. He instructed the officers to complete the
selection process in shortest possible time.
He also inspected
Social Welfare Office and District Programme Office, Reasi where he assessed
their working and service delivery system established for common people. Later,
he visited Mari to inspect the ongoing construction work of OBC
Hostel.
Earlier, the
officers apprised the Commissioner Secretary about the schemes and assistance
being provided to the children, women, girls, disabled person, needy and other
weaker section of the society by the department.
