New Delhi, Nov 24: The ruling Aam Aadmi
Party (AAP) in Delhi will organise a national conference, on completion of five
years of its existence.
Delhi Rural Development Minister Gopal Rai on
Friday said the party will organise a 'Rashtriya Sammelan' on completing five
years of the party on November 26, where party workers from different parts of
the country will congregate and discuss several important issues of national
importance. Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, the
Minister posted, "AAP is the first party of the country, which created a
niche for itself in less than five years of its existence. The party has
managed to establish its own identity in such a short span of time.'The
conference will deliberate on the functioning of the party, ways to strengthen
AAP in major cities of the country and other issues like GST, problems of
farmers and the denigration of Indian economy, since BJP came to power at the
Centre. Meanwhile, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish
Sisodia, during a national council meeting on November 2, had highlighted the
developmental works done by his government. "AAP was founded with the objective of
nation building and whether we are in power in Delhi, as Oppositions in Punjab
and in three corporations of Delhi, as an 'Aam Aadmi' (common man) we always
look at solving the People's problems. Sitting in the Opposition in corporations
in Delhi and in Punjab, issues relating to people's problems are raised by our
party leaders," Mr Sisodia had said.
