Thane, Nov 25: The
death toll in Maharashtra's Bhiwandi building collapse has climbed to four
after recovery of a woman's body and police has booked its owner in connection
with the case.
Regional Disaster Management Cell chief Santosh Kadam said
that the fourth deceased, whose body was extricated from debris, was identified
as Parvin Khan (65). Relief and rescue operations launched by NDRF were called off
at 0645 hrs.
The building owner has been booked under sections 304(2), 337, 338 of the IPC and also section 52 of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning (MRTP) Act of 1966. The accused, Mohammad Tahir Rafique Ahmed Ansari, 46 was absconding. A manhunt has been launched. A three-storey residential building collapsed on Friday morning in Bhiwandi in Thane district. UNI
