BARAMULLA, NOVEMBER 01: District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash,
today chaired District Consultative Committee (DCC) meeting here to review the
progress of banks till date in the district.
Officers of concerned departments, representatives
of financial institutions, representatives of RBI, NABARD and
other concerned attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the progress and achievements made by the banks in
an implementation of various Government sponsored schemes.
On the occasion, the DDC was informed about the performance of various
banks in different sectors. He was informed that out of the total annual credit
plan of Rs 2285.60 crore for 2017-18, Rs 60312.68 lac have been achieved in
agriculture and allied sectors. Moreover, Rs 15034.71 lac out of targeted Rs
58513.20 lac has been achieved in small enterprises, besides Rs 593.68 lac in
the service sector and Rs. 75941.07 lac and Rs 33914.87 lac have been achieved
in priority and non-priority sectors respectively.
The DDC said that banks and various financial
institutions in the district must play their role for the economic progress of
the district. He impressed upon the concerned to educate people and urges for
proper coordination among various institutions so that people
are benefited from various welfare schemes.
