          BARAMULLA, MAY 03: Additional Secretary, Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Arun Kumar Mehta today chaired a meeting here to review the progress in the implementation of key sectors that come under the purview of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan. 
           The meeting was attended by District Developmental Commissioner Baramulla Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash, ADC Baramulla Farooq Ahmad Baba, Joint Director Planning A G Malik, SEs and EXNs of line departments, CMO, CEO and other concerned.
           The DDC Baramulla, while briefing the Additional Secretary about the implementation of various schemes and development projects, said that 1187 free LPG connections have been distributed among AAY ration card holders under Ujjawala Yojna. He said that about 463160 subsidized LEDs were distributed under UJALA scheme.
          Dr Naqash said that under Saubhagya rural electrification scheme, free connection certificates were given to poor households. Under PMJDY, the DDC said that about 174724 accounts were opened of which 105977 account holders have been issued Rupay debit cards. He also briefed the Additional Secretary about various activities carried out during the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan. 
          A K Mehta, who is also the Nodal Officer Developmental Projects of the district, took a thorough review of the implementation of all components under the Abhiyan. He also reviewed the progress of works under "Aspirational Districts" programme.
                    During the meeting, the Additional Secretary sought suggestions and feedbacks from officers for the effective implementation of various programmes and schemes.  He stressed upon the concerned to ramp up the pace of work so that the set targets are achieved on time.

BARAMULLA, APRIL 10: In order to finalize the arrangements for the upcoming Gram Swaraj Abhiyan to be observed from 14th of April to 5th of May 2018, a meeting of officers was today chaired by District Development Commissioner Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash here at Dak Bungalow.
Meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Farooq Ahmad Baba, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore Ashiq Hussain Lilly, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Bashir Ahmad Bhat,Chief Medical Officer Bashir Ahmad Chalkoo, Assistant Commissioner Development, District Social welfare officer Baramulla Mudasir Ahmad, Tehsildar Baramulla MaeenKakroo, Tehsildar HQ Baramulla Irfan Bahadur and various other concerned officer were present during the meeting.
On the occasion, it was informed that different programmes viz Social Justice Day on 14th April, Swach Bharat Diwas on 18th April, UjjawalaDiwas on 20th April, Rashtriya Panchayati Raj Diwas on 24th April will be celebrated in the district. Moreover, Gram Swaraj Diwas, Ayaushman Bharat Diwas, Farmers Welfare Day and AajeevikaDiwas will be celebrated on 28, 38, 02 and 05 May respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC exhorted upon all concerned to ensure coordination and cooperation to make events successful. He stressed upon RDD and health departments to ensure presence of VLWs, GRS, Anms, Aaganwari and Aasha workers in gram panchayats during the meeting of gram sabha.

BARAMULLA, APRIL 6: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash today chaired a meeting to review the progress of centrally sponsored Swach Bharat Mission (SBM). 
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Farooq Ahmad Baba District Panchayat Officer, BDOs and various other concerned.
On the occasion, the DDC took a thorough review of the implementation of the scheme. He was informed that about 65 percent works under the SBM have been achieved. It was said that the scheme aims at achieving complete open defecation free (ODF) status for the district by the end of next year.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC highlighted the significance of the mission and said various public toilets are being built to put a check on the menace of open defecation.
Meanwhile, the DDC emphasized upon increasing of awareness among masses regarding the benefits of sanitation, besides highlighting the objectives of the scheme.

BARAMULLA, MARCH 27: District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash today reviewed the functioning of Hygam–Ningli–Tarzoo (HNT) Tourism Development Authority.
The DDC was accompanied by Chief Executive Officer Gulmarg Development Authority and HNT Development Authority Syed Hanief Balkhi besides officers and Engineers of various Departments.
On the occasion, DDC Baramulla was informed about progress of various ongoing developmental works of the HNT Development Authority.
DDC said the Rakh Hygam and areas of Tarzoo will be developed  in order to bring them under the tourism map. He said their development will boost the socio economic these areas.
During his visit, the DDC also met various delegations of these areas, who put forth their demands before him, The DDC assured them that their genuine concerns will be redressed on priority.

                 BARAMULLA, NOVEMBER 01: District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash, today chaired District Consultative Committee (DCC) meeting here to review the progress of banks till date in the district.
Officers of concerned departments, representatives of financial institutions, representatives of RBI, NABARD and other concerned attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the progress and achievements made by the banks in an implementation of various Government sponsored schemes.
          On the occasion, the DDC was informed about the performance of various banks in different sectors. He was informed that out of the total annual credit plan of Rs 2285.60 crore for 2017-18, Rs 60312.68 lac have been achieved in agriculture and allied sectors. Moreover, Rs 15034.71 lac out of targeted Rs 58513.20 lac has been achieved in small enterprises, besides Rs 593.68 lac in the service sector and Rs. 75941.07 lac and Rs 33914.87 lac have been achieved in priority and non-priority sectors respectively.
         The DDC said that banks and various financial institutions in the district must play their role for the economic progress of the district. He impressed upon the concerned to educate people and urges for proper coordination among various institutions so that people are benefited from various welfare schemes.

          BARAMULLA, JUNE 14:  A public grievance redressal camp was today held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Baramulla at Dak Bungalow Sopore.

          Additional Deputy Commissioner, SSP, JDP, Executive Engineers of PHE, Power Development Department and R&B, Trades Federation representatives, Mohala Presidents besides a large number people attended the camp.

      Issues related to health services, electricity, water supply, traffic management and road repairs, besides issue of food supply and home delivery of LPG supply was highlighted by the civil society members during the darbar.

          Moreover, the people apprised the issue of drug addiction and stressed upon curbing it at an earliest. The DDC assured that every step will be taken by the administration to eradicate this menace.

          The DDC listened to the problems projected at the camp and assured early redressal of genuine demands. He stressed the officers to provide basic facilities to the people of Sopore area. He said that District administration is committed to provide every facility to the people of the district.

          The DDC said that the Government has launched various schemes and programmes for the welfare of people and they should come forward and avail the benefits of the development programme and schemes.
