KARGIL, NOVEMBER 03: Chairman
Legislative Council Haji Anayat Ali today said that inclusive development of
the far flung and remote pockets of the state and establishment of durable
assets and infrastructure in these areas is among the top priorities of the
government. The Chairman stated this while interacting with a series of public
delegations on the first day of his 4-day extensive tour of Zanskar sub
division.
The
Chairman said that all out efforts are being put in place by the present regime
to augment connectivity and expansion of road network, establishment of
educational institutions and creation of health facilities so as to ensure that
people of these areas are in a position to avail facilities at par with the
other areas.
Meanwhile
en route Padum public delegations at Parkachik, Farol Parkachik, Rangdum, Tashi
Stongday, Abran, Akshow, Kushul, Skyagam, Manda, Phey, Shagar and adjoining
villages apprised the Chairman about their grievances and demands like
blacktopping of roads, construction of foot bridges, installation of mobile
towers, repair and restoration of irrigation canals, construction of community
halls, provision of generator and kitchen sets and other related issues.
Responding to the local needs and demands, the Chairman said that
Government is conscious of the difficulties faced by the people in these areas. He
assured the delegations that all their genuine demands would be taken up on
priority and steps for fulfilment of demands would be taken in a phased manner.
Haji Anayat said that adequate number of mobile towers have been sanctioned to
provide mobile connectivity in these villages while as two numbers of dozers
have been sanctioned for snow clearance operations during winter months.
Highlighting the efforts of the government in extending air services to
the people of far flung areas nearer to their homes the Chairman said
that the operation of helicopter services for Zanskar and Rangdum among other
such areas during winter months will provide much needed relief to the people
especially patients and students.
Highlighting several welfare programmes and schemes to bring a healthy
change in the living condition of poor and needy, the Chairman asked the
officers to work with added zeal besides making concerted efforts in ensuring
the benefits of State and centrally sponsored schemes reach to the targeted
population without fail.
The
Chairman also assured the locals of providing funds out of his CDF for
development works and provision of basic amenities.
The Chairman while directing the officers for personally monitoring all
the ongoing projects asked them to adopt proactive approach in execution and
planning of the projects so that they can be completed in given time frame and
benefiting the people of the area.
Meanwhile,
the local people welcomed the Chairman and appreciated him for personally
visiting the area to take firsthand appraisal of their issues and grievances
