Kavinder kick starts macadamization work at Shastri Nagar

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 01: Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta kick started the macadamization works at Shastri Nagar here today. The macadamization will cover main stretch and internal roads of the area.

Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker said that roads are the vital means of connectivity and upgradation of roads lead to the growth and development in the area. He directed the concerned officers to ensure time bound completion of ongoing works and asked them to put in place a mechanism for development of roads in Gandhi Nagar constituency. He also directed concerned officers for restoration of damaged roads in the area at the earliest.

Reiterating government’s commitment, Kavinder said that more development works will soon be initiated to meet the developmental aspirations of the people of the constituency . “Providing better sanitation for the population of Satwari, Digiana and adjoining areas, work on the nallah with an estimated cost of Rs 5.28 crore will be taken up ,” Speaker assured.

While interacting with the people on the occasion, the Speaker said that a comprehensive developmental plan for improving overall basic amenities in Gandhi Nagar constituency is underway.

Calling for active participation of public in development works, Speaker appealed to the people to ensure quality check of the ongoing works in their areas and said that if any work is being done of spurious quality, they can approach him anytime.

The Speaker also took stock of various development works being executed in the area. He asked the concerned authorities to gear up their men and machinery to complete all ongoing roads and other developmental projects in stipulated time frame and directed the concerned executing agencies for adhering to the quality norms.
