Legal awareness camp held at Sopore

          BARAMULLA, NOVEMBER 11: As part of the recently launched 10-day nationwide outreach campaign, a legal awareness camp was today organized by Tehsil Legal Services Authority Sopore with Additional District and Sessions Judge, Shazia Tabasum as the chief guest.

          Chief Judicial Magistrate Sopore, Masarat Rahooi,  SSP Baramulla, Mir Imtiyaz Hussain, District Mobile Magistrate, Jehangir Ahmad Bakshi, Sub-judge Uri, President Bar Association Sopore,   legal experts besides a huge gathering of students were present on the occasion.

          A series of lectures were delivered by the experts. They laid stress   on awareness and dissemination of information among masses with respect to legal and other necessary judicial services.

          Speaking on the occasion, Shazia Tabasum  said the event has been organized for educating the people about various legal services. She also reiterated the TLSA’s commitment to provide free legal aid to the destitute and downtrodden sections of the society.

          In his address, SSP Baramulla said that Police Department will extend every possible support in the outreach programme.

          The Chief Judicial Magistrate, who is also the Chairperson of Tehsil Legal Service Authority Sopore, said that basic aim of the programme is to convey the message about various legal services being offered to the people.

          Earlier, a walkathon with the theme ‘Connecting to Serve’ was organized, in which a large number of students of local educational institutions participated.

The walkathon was flagged off by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, Khursheed Ahmad Shah.
