Siliguri, Nov 11: BJP's West Bengal unit president Dilip Ghosh today said new entrant Mukul Roy would campaign for the saffron brigade in poll bound Gujarat before starting electioneering for Bengal's  panchayat polls, scheduled for next year.
Mr Ghosh, who arrived here for party's organisational matters and to address a few open rallies, said Mr Roy is scheduled to fly to New Delhi before going to Gujarat for electioneering. Interestingly, Mr Roy, who held the number 2 position after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress, recently joined the BJP under the patronage of Amit Shah in New Delhi, has not yet been given any party post so far. However, BJP state president Dilip Ghosh in a first open rally in Kolkata yesterday, since Roy joined the party, told the workers that Roy is the coach of the state unit. Mr Roy in his first media conference early this week had called Mr Ghosh as captain of his team. The BJP president said the party will decide the distribution of team of workers to campaign across the state for panchayat polls. The BJP has aimed at wresting power from ruling TMC in panchayet first and then the state legislative assembly in 2021 elections.  UNI
