REASI, NOVEMBER 04: A two day cultural Festival began here today to showcase the state’s folk music and dances.
The event would also witness the
screening of promotional and educative film shows.
The programme has been organised by Triple-A Performing Arts in
association with district administration and sponsored by Ministry of Culture,
Government of India to promote local folk music, dance forms and other
performing arts prevailing in the rural areas.
The programme was inaugurated by Minister of State for Finance and
Planning Ajay Nanda as chief guest.
Deputy Commissioner Prasanna Ramaswamy G and other officers of civil and
police were also present on the occasion.
The main attraction on the first day was Dogri, Punjabi and Kashmiri
dance and music performances by local girls and boys. Among other items, Dandi
Dance and Harn were also presented by local artists.
The artists also presented skits based on Swach Bharat Abhiyan, Beti
Bachao Beti Padhao and other social issues confronting the society.
Speaking on the occasion, Ajay Nanda lauded Triple-A performing Arts
Reasi for making concerted efforts for preserving rich cultural heritage of
state through scintillating cultural programmes.
The Minister further said that the event is a great step towards
elevating Reasi in cultural arena and project it as a hub of diverse cultural
and tourist activities.
The programme was witnessed by a huge audience. The organizers among
others included programme Akram Khan, Advocate Mir and Shadab
Khan.
