New Delhi, Nov 10: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) will examine the Delhi government's decision of implementing the odd-even scheme starting from November 13 at 1400 hrs on Friday.
A bench headed by the green panel's Chairman Justice Swatanter Kumar directed the Delhi Government to submit the details of the ambient air quality of the earlier implementation of the odd-even scheme. It also directed the Delhi government counsel to be ready with all the requisite data and show the NGT the reason to implement the scheme. In the wake of the alarming rise in the air pollution that has caused a state of medical emergency, the Delhi government on Thursday decided to come back with the odd-even scheme from November 13 for five days. Notably, the air pollution has reached an alarming level in Delhi and its adjoining areas. On Thursday, the NGT had pulled up the Delhi, Punjab and Haryana government for their inability to enforce the remedial measures and telling them that they had no right to snatch the citizen’s right to life.
