Nov 2: Expositions of the great Sikh guru Guru Nanak Dev were made on the
occasion of ‘Parkash Utsav’, to be held on November 4.
The Department of Guru Nanak Sikh Studies, Panjab University remembered the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev at the Panjab University.
The programme was held under the chairpersonship of Prof Minakshi Malhotra.
Dr Jaspal Kaur Kaang, professor of Guru Nanak Sikh Studies, described that Guru Nanak’s message is universal and all his teachings were very relevant in today’s world to live a righteous life; as inter-religion dialogue, toleration, humility, to share the social and political responsibility of nation, creating equality and oneness of god are very significant in today’s time also.
She also described that Guru Nanak is considered to be the most travelled person of the world, who had travelled not only in India but out of India also. He visited Mucca, Madina Baghdad, Cylon, Barhma, Rome to aware the masses to adopt the honest way of life and to believe in human religion. UNI
