Ayodhya,
Nov 16: Spiritual guru and founder of Art of Living Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
met Shri Ramjanambhoomi Nyas president Mahant Nritya Gopal Das on Thursday in
the temple city of Ayodhya to explore possibilities of an out-of-court
settlement on the vexed issue of Ram temple.
After his arrival from Lucknow by road, Sri Sri dashed to Shree Maniram Das Chhavni to meet the Mahant. Later he went for the darshan of Ram Lalla at the disputed site. Both of them were closeted for about 30 minutes in the hall of Deen Bandhu Eye Hospital run by the Shri Maniram Das Chhavni Charitable Trust. Sri Sri also met patients undergoing treatment at the hospital. Later in his brief interaction with media, Sri Sri said a new era started today to resolve the Ayodhya issue. "We are trying to resolve the issue through mutual understanding and respect so that an amicable settlement is reached over the construction of Ram temple," he said. The spiritual guru said he would meet all the three stakeholders in the Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute, including the seers and Muslim leaders. He, however, clarified that he had no concrete formula at present that would help bring the dispute to an end. He was expected to go to Nirmohi Akhara and also meet Muslim leaders Iqbal Ansari and Haji Mahboob. He hinted that he could address the media in the evening to share details of his meeting with various stakeholders. UNI
