Kolkata, Nov 7: Budding film makers can win the Golden Royal Bengal Tiger
Trophy--a Rs one lakh prize money at the 23rd Kolkata International Film
Festival which begins here on November 10.
'We are introducing a Short and Documentary section to encourage upcoming film makers,' Nandan Chief Executive Officer Yadab Mondal today. 'This is an important section to give a boost to young men and women who have started making films and hence we introduced the prize,' he said. This year the Royal Bengal Trophy would be awarded to the Best Film and the Best Director in Innovation in Moving Images section. The cash award for the Best Film is the single largest cash award at any International film festival till date. 'Besides, we will be holding a Prakash Jha(renowned director) master class for the benefit of the student community,' Mr Mondal said. UNI
