JAMMU, NOVEMBER 16: A meeting
of the Committee on Government Assurances (GA) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative
Council was held here today under the Chairmanship of MLC, Surinder Mohan
Ambardar.
Detailed discussion was held on various Action Taken Reports (ARTs) of
Government Assurances pertaining to different departments lying pending in the
Council Secretariat besides functioning of the Committee.
Legislators, Sham Lal Bhagat and S. Charanjeet Singh attended the
meeting and gave their valuable suggestions in fulfilling the pending
Government Assurances given by the government from time to time on the floor of
the House.
The Committee expressed serious concern over non-fulfilment of
commitment made by the different departments in respect of various Government
Assurances given in the house from time to time.
The Committee directed the Council Secretariat to issue instructions to
different departments for submission of the action taken report on various
Government Assurances given by them on the floor of upper house during 2016-17.
Special Secretary, Council Secretariat Mohammad Ashraf Wani briefed
about functioning of the committee besides present status of pending Government
Assurances pertaining to different departments.
Among others, Deputy Secretary, LC, Ali Mohammad Rawat, Under Secretary,
LC, Moni Koul besides senior officers and officials of Council Secretariat were
present in the meeting.
