JAMMU, NOVEMBER 16:
Valedictory function of the Inter block Sports Tournament was held today at
District Jail Jammu.
The
tournament held amongst the jail inmates, from November 7 to 13 was organised
withn an aim to engage inmates in productive activities to keep up their mental
as well as physical health.
Deputy Inspector General of Prisons Dr. Mohd Sultan Lone distributed
Medal and trophy among winner team.
In his address, Dr. Lone said that such programme are part of
reformation and rehabilitation programme and make the jail inmates realize that
they are integral part of out society. He asked the officers to conduct such
programme in all jails in the interest of physical and mental fitness of jail
inmates.
A colourful cultural programme was also presented by the jail inmates on
this occasion.
Jail Superintendent Dinesh Sharma, Accounts Officer, Medical Officers, Officer
Commanding CRPF and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
The inmates appreciated the efforts made by Director General of Police,
Prisons and Superintendent Jail Dinesh Sharma in organizing such programme for their
reformation.
