SW organizes awareness camp in G’bal

GANDERBAL, NOVEMBER 22:- An awareness-cum-distribution camp was organized by Social Welfare Department Ganderbal in which Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare Department Sajad Ahmad Khan and District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Dr Piyush Singla distributed wheelchairs and hearing aids among the beneficiaries here today.

District Social Welfare Officer Ganderbal Bureeda, DPO ICDS Ganderbal, Abdul Aziz, A.D Schemes Masood Ahmad Wani, Aanganwadi workers, Supervisors, beneficiaries, members of village-level social welfare counsellors and a large number of the general public were present in the camp.

Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare Department said that such awareness camps are an opportunity for the people to know about the schemes of the department. He called upon the people to avail maximum benefit from different social welfare schemes and programs.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Ganderbal urged upon the officers of Social Welfare Department to follow the guidelines while implementing State and centrally sponsored social welfare schemes. He enjoined upon them to work with more zeal, dedication and in missionary mode and maintain transparency besides justice in delivery so that only deserving and needy applicants are covered under these schemes.

During the camp, District Social Welfare Officer Ganderbal, Bureeda apprised the participants about the schemes and assistances being provided to the disabled person, needy and weaker section of the society under different State as well as centrally sponsored schemes. It was said that the main objective of the camp was to make people aware of different schemes of the Social Welfare Department.

Later, 24 hearing aid devices and six wheel chairs were distributed among the identified beneficiaries of District Ganderbal.
