KATHUA, DECEMBER 20: Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria, today
chaired a meeting to review the functioning of Revenue Department besides
assessing the progress on digitization of land records.
The meeting had threadbare deliberation on launching
anti-encroachment drives besides expediting process of acquisition of land for
major development projects.
DC called upon the officers to accelerate the pace of
digitization to realize the objectives of modernizing management of land
records, minimizing scope of land/property disputes and ensuring transparency
in the land records maintenance system. He directed officers to
prioritize the work of jamabandhi strictly in conformity with the standing
instructions and fixed tehsil wise targets.
The DC also asked the Tehsildars to speed up the process of land
acquisition in consultation with all the stakeholders so that best location can
be identified for major development projects and work on these projects can be
started at the earliest besides completing mutation of major development
projects under PMGSY, BRO, GREF, NHAI and others. They were further directed to
conduct administrative inspections of Niabats under their respective
jurisdiction immediately besides timely submission of their tour diaries.
Earlier, ADC informed the meeting about the progress on land
record digitalization, anti-encroachment drives and land acquisition status for
various projects.
DC also sought report from revenue officers depicting the status
of population wise land holding of Schedule tribes in Kathua district.
The status of various complaints received from different platforms
and actions taken thereof was also reviewed.
Among others ADC Kathua
Rishpal Singh, ACR Jitendar Mishra, Tehsildars and other revenue officers were
present in the meeting.
