Minister
prays for peace, prosperity of the state
JAMMU, NOVEMBER 25: Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga
extended his wishes to people of Jammu, on the auspicious occasion of Christmas
and Gurpurab.
The
Minister attended Christmas celebrations organized at Christian Colony, Bari
Brahmana by Christian Welfare Association. He asserted that state government is
following the development mantra of centre government “Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas”
given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Various programmes including Christmas
carols, songs, dance and skit depicting the birth and life of Jesus Christ were
presented on the occasion. Children were dressed as Santa Claus and fairies and
they also presented a colorful cultural extravaganza.
Christmas
is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed on
December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people
around the world. Popular customs include exchanging gifts, decorating Christmas
trees, attending church, sharing meals with family and friends and, of course,
waiting for Santa Claus to arrive.
Earlier,
the Minister also visited Gurdwara in Khor Salarian to celebrate the 351st birth
anniversary of 10th Guru of Sikh Panth Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He
extended his wishes to the Sikh community on the occasion of Prakash Utsav and
prayed for peace, prosperity and development of the state.
The Minister said that Guru Gobind Singh Ji was a
spiritual master, warrior, poet and a philosopher who dedicated and sacrificed
his life for the safeguard of the country. He appealed every citizen of the
state, especially youth, to follow the foot prints of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and
contribute to the development of the nation.
