Dec 25: Top Maoist leader Ginugu Narsimha Reddy alias Rajesh alias
Jampanna,who spent 33-years in the CPI(Maoist) party, surrendered before
the Telangana police " on ideological front, here on Monday.
Jampanna's wife Hinge Anitha alias Rajitha, who also worked
in the CPI(Maoist) party for 13-years at different ranks, too surrendred before the police.Addressing a press conference after producing surrendered Maoists before the media persons here, Director General of Police, M Mahender Reddy said the 55-year-old Jampanna was attracted to the CPI(ML) PWG in 1984 when he was studying ITI at Mallepally in Hyderabad.
Jampanna who hails from Thorruru mandal of Mahabubabad district, was a member of the Central Committee, Central Regional Bureau (CRB) and Central Military Commission looking after Odisha State Committee, said DGP.
His 37-year-old wife Rajitha who hails from Ulligadda Damera mandal of Warangal Urban District, was a member of Division committee of Kalahandi-Kandhamal-Boudh-Nayagarh DVC (KKBN). She carries a reward of Rs 5 laksh.
Jampanna, who carried a reward of Rs 25 lakhs, was involved in more than 100 cases across the country including 51 cases in Telangana.
He was involved in three major offences in Telangana, including in the attack of Karakagudem police station of Bhadradri Kothadudem district in January 10, 1997 where in 17 police personnel were killed. He also snatched their weapons and blasted a police jeep during the elections in June 15,1991 at 1 Chelpaka in Eturnagaram polce station limits of Jayashankaer Bhupalpally district where in Circle Inspector Santhosh
Kumar and Sub-inspector Kishore Kumar and four others were killed. Besides he also attacked Wazeedu police station of Jayashanker Bhupalpally district in Feb 22, 1991 wherein they snatched 14 weapons and injured one police constable, said DGP. UNI
