JAMMU, DECEMBER 20: Minister of State for
Education, Technical Education, Culture and Tourism, Priya Sethi convened a
meeting reviewing the working of Vocational Training Partners in the state here
today.
The Minister assessed the performance of
several VTPs and asked for imparting quality vocational training to youth to
achieve the objective of skill development initiative of the government.
“Imparting necessary technical and vocational skills among students will not
only boost self-employment but will also enable them contribute to economic
development of the state”, the Minister maintained.
The Minister directed the concerned agencies
to submit progress report, industrial training report and feedback report on
regular basis regarding the status of skill development training to her office.
She also asked them to prepare a presentation pertaining to their future plan
of action on the subject.
The Minister emphasized the need of putting in
place a high level monitoring system at division and district level to oversee
the working and performance of these training institutes for better outcome.
She asked the agencies to identify area specific viable trades and incorporate
them in the training module to make the training more practical and beneficial
for the students. She also instructed for spreading awareness regarding the
scheme to make people aware and encourage more students to enroll them in the
training.

(Planning) School Education, Javed Iqbal Mattoo , besides senior functionaries
of Vocational Training Partner agencies along with senior officers of concerned
departments attended the meeting.
