Patna,
Dec 2: Former Bihar Chief Minister and senior RJD leader Rabri Devi
ultimately appeared before Enforcement Directorate (ED) today after skipping
its seven notices, for her interrogation in money laundering case, an off shoot
of Railway Hotels tender scam during the regime of her husband and RJD supremo
Lalu Prasad as Railway Minister in 2005. Ms Rabri Devi, appeared before ED in its zonal office in
Patna to reply queries on charges levelled against her in money laundering case
arising out for Railway hotels tender scam. A special team of the agency from Delhi is here to question
and record her statement under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act
(PMLA). ED had altogether sent seven notices to Rabri Devi requesting
her to appear before it for interrogation but all went unattended as she did
not bother to travel to New Delhi to present herself for interrogation in the
case. Visibly irritated over ED for sending seven notices summoning
her to New Delhi for interrogation, she had alleged during a function of RJD in
Patna recently that central agencies were being misused at instigation of BJP
to harass her due to political vendetta. "I will not go to New Delhi to appear before ED,
whatever the central agency has to ask, it can do so in Patna and I am prepared
to respond any query," Ms Rabri Devi had thundered in recent RJD national
council meeting recently in Patna. After that ED virtually changed its tack and preferred to
send its team to Patna for interrogation in Rabri Devi. UNI
